Study on Water Baptism
Today we are living in an hour that there are so many different churches, and teachings, that we have come up with several ways to Water Baptize.
First of all, we must first come to an agreement that the Word of God is Perfect and that the Word over rules all our Churches and Teachings, no matter how much we love them, We should Love Jesus Christ FIRST. If we can all agree to this, now we can talk.
let us first look at what the Bible says about Water Baptism:
MATTHEW 28:16
16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
MATTHEW 28:17
17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
MATTHEW 28:18
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
MATTHEW 28:19
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
MATTHEW 28:20
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.
I admit that it takes a real revelation from the Holy Ghost to see the truth about the Godhead these days when we are in the midst of the perverting of so much Scripture. But the prevailing, overcoming church is built on revelation so we can expect God to reveal His truth to us. However, you actually don't need a revelation on water baptism. It is right there staring you in the face.
Let us look to Acts 2:38, Yes, let us not forget to look here, this is also the same Word, and all Scriptures are given under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost.
ACTS 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
ACTS 2:37 Now when they heard [this], they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men [and] brethren, what shall we do?
ACTS 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
ACTS 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, [even] as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Could this be a mistake? were the disciples in direct disobedence to what Jesus said in Matt. 28 ? here in Acts 2:38 Peter baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ, V36 said He was both LORD and CHRIST, (remember that), Jesus is both LORD and CHRIST = LORD JESUS CHRIST.
How about Acts 19:
ACTS 19:1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
ACTS 19:2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
ACTS 19:3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
ACTS 19:4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
ACTS 19:5 When they heard [this], they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Let us look at a few more scriptures, study these, and see what the Word is telling us.
COLOSSIANS 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, [do] all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Water Baptisim is a deed.
GALATIANS 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
GALATIANS 1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any [man] preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
If we preach and teach any other doctrine then what Paul preached, we are cursed, What way did Paul baptize? In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Not Titles.
ACTS 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Jesus Gave us all the comandment to be baptized in the Name of the father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost, we know now that father, Son, Holy Ghost are not Names, they are Titles of a person, but not the name of the person. Go sign your next check as father, Son, Human Being, and see how far you will get, you must have the name to cash the check.
The Answer is this Question: The Name that Jesus said to be baptized in is the Name of the father (LORD), Son (JESUS), and the Holy Ghost (CHRIST) The Anointing.
LORD JESUS CHRIST, the is way that everyone in the Bible was baptized, no one ever was Baptized in the Titles of Father, Son, Holy Ghost. This Doctrine came from ROME.
Look at these expressions, `Him Which Is', and `Him Which Was', and `Is To Come', and `Faithful Witness', and `First-born From Among the Dead', and `Prince of the Kings of the Earth', and `The Alpha and Omega', and `The Almighty', are titles and descriptions of the ONE AND THE SAME PERSON, Who is the Lord Jesus Christ, Who washed us from our sins in His own blood.
The Spirit of God in John expresses thusly in order to set forth the Supreme Deity of Jesus Christ and to reveal the Godhead as ONE God. Today there is a gross error. It is that there are three Gods instead of one. This revelation as given to John by Jesus, Himself, corrects that error. It is not that there are three Gods, but one God with three offices. There is ONE God with three titles, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. This mighty revelation is what the early church had, and it must be restored in this last day along with the correct formula of water baptism.God has many titles: `Our Righteousness', and `Our Peace', and `Ever Present', and `Father', and `Son', and `Holy Ghost'; but He has only one human name and that name is Jesus. Don't be confused because he has three offices or that He has a threefold manifestation.
Would it be possible for one minute for the apostles to be led astray from a direct command of the Lord to baptize in the Name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost and then find them in willful disobedience? They knew what the Name was, and there is not one place in Scripture where they baptized any other way than in the Name of Lord Jesus Christ. Common sense would tell you that the Book of Acts is the church in action, and if they baptized that way, then that is the way to baptize. Now if you think that is strong, what do you think of this? Anyone who was not baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus had to be baptized over again.
God is One God and His Name is The Lord Jesus Christ. If there were three Gods, you might very well baptize for a Father, and a Son, and a Holy Ghost. But the REVELATION GIVEN TO JOHN was that there is ONE GOD and His Name is LORD JESUS CHRIST, and you baptize for ONE God and only one. That is why Peter baptized the way he did at Pentecost. He had to be true to the revelation which was, "Let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that SAME JESUS, Whom ye have crucified, BOTH LORD AND CHRIST." There He is, "The LORD JESUS CHRIST."
If Jesus is `BOTH' Lord and Christ, then He (Jesus) is, and cannot be else but "Father, Son, and Holy Ghost" in ONE Person manifested in the flesh. It is NOT "God in three persons, blessed trinity," but ONE GOD, ONE PERSON with three major titles, with three offices manifesting those titles. Hear it once more. This same Jesus is "BOTH Lord and Christ." Lord (Father) and Christ (Holy Spirit) are Jesus, for He (Jesus) is BOTH of them (Lord and Christ).
Look in God's Word and see what It teaches, What we have just talked about might come against your church teaching, but as we see it is right with God's Word... Who is Right, YOU MUST MAKE THE CHOOSE.
May God Bless You
